Gibbs and Associates Celebrates 25 Years
Thanks Customers, Employees & Partners for Landmark Anniversary

In celebration of Gibbs & Associates 25 years in business, Bill Gibbs has sent out a Thank You on their website www.GibbsCAM.com .  Recounting their 25 years as a leader in the CAM industry Bill Gibbs, president and founder states, "We owe our success and longevity to our customers, our employees, our GibbsCAM Resellers  and other industry partners." "Without them, we would not be celebrating this landmark year. We thank our customers and partners with continued support and a promise to keep GibbsCAM as powerful, as efficient, and as easy to use as we can, always with an effort to keep it in step with developing CAD and machine tool capabilities."
Powerfully Simple, Simply Powerful has been a guiding philosophy for Gibbs development, and the process-based approach to CNC programming has given GibbsCAM a reputation as "developed by machinists for machinists." The resulting breadth of capabilities, with easy-to-use interface, continue to gain more customers for the company.

Clicking on the picture of Bill Gibbs on the article will take you to the prerecorded telecast at IMTS. You can hear Bill discuss the 2009 release of GibbsCAM that was released earlier this year.    Since 1984, Gibbs and Associates' goal has been to provide customers the most effective CAM system available. Throughout its history, GibbsCAM has demonstrated its lead in the wide field of PC-based CAM software.

To retain its leadership in customer support throughout its 25-year history, Gibbs and Associates has developed and maintained strong partnerships with leading, worldwide CAD developers, control manufacturers and machine tool builders. Collaboration with industry partners resulted in GibbsCAM's ability to directly import part and assembly models in multiple CAD formats, and to support machines with integrated toolpath verification, machine-tool simulation and thousands of post processors.

Fine Tune Your Shop
Depending on which Economist you listen to, it is said that our US economy should be back toward the end of this year.  Business doesn't stand still and bills still need to be paid so that news isn't very encouraging for today.  But there are things you can do to tread water until that time.

We have noticed a trend lately with our Texas Offline customers that are using this time to fine tune their shop.  They are reevaluating the products that they already own and maximizing their investments.

Our new product eNET DNC has been a pleasant surprise.  Our customers are looking for better ways fine tune their shop and to save time and make their shop flow better inexpensively.  eNET DNC provides flexible, secure, reliable and cost effective data management, by allowing the user to connect CNC machine controls using an existing computer network.   There are several packages to choose from according to you needs and budget, but all very affordable.  See the next article for listing or you can call our office to discuss your needs.

Reevaluating your employees is a must in this lean time. Our weekly GibbsCAM Training classes are exploding.  It may be in part to our customers weeding out the dead wood in their shop & hiring qualified people.  Some are even using this slow time to wisely to sharpen up their Gibbs skills by taking the next class that they never had time to take before.  We have scheduled a full week in both Houston and Dallas every month and are able to have tailored classes on your parts in your shop if you are outside that area.

Another area our customers are improving in their shop is finding new areas to prosper.  By simply adding a new module like 2D solids, 3D  or 5th axis, you will be able to broaden your spectrum of work you can bid on.  You are widening the net of your shop and providing more available opportunity for profit.  You make yourself more valuable to your customers by being able to meet more of their machining needs.

Feel free to call our office for a quote.  Jason is available to discuss any advice on what modules you will need fine tune your shop to create more profit for your future.

Cimatron Awarded Fastest Growing CAD/CAM
Cimatron Limited (Nasdaq: CIMT), a leading provider of integrated CAD/CAM solutions for mold, tool and die makers as well as manufacturers of discrete parts, announced that it was identified as the fastest growing CAD/CAM provider in 2008 according to report by prominent market research firm CIMdata.

According to CIMdata's NC Software and Related Services Market Assessment, Cimatron's growth in 2008 was 45.6%, making Cimatron the sixth largest CAD/CAM provider globally.

Cimatron's revenue increased by over 12 Million USD compared with 2007 revenue. CIMdata credited the growth to the merger with Gibbs and Associates, among other factors. Gibbs and Associates, developers of GibbsCAM software merged into Cimatron in January 2008.

Mr. Alan Christman, Chairman of CIMdata, wrote: "CIMdata believes that the merging of Gibbs with Cimatron is a positive move. The companies are very complementary to one another in product, markets pursued, and distribution channels. It brings together the CimatronE integrated CAD/CAM suite focused on toolmaking with GibbsCAM-which is focused on production machining to provide a more complete product portfolio for the manufacturing industry. Cimatron was a company with about twice Gibbs' current sales volume and very little product or distribution overlap. CIMdata believes that as a combined entity, they are better positioned to increase their presence in the CAD/CAM market with increased resources for product development, sales, and marketing. The combined product offering strengthens Cimatron's market position, with the ability to deliver products targeting all segments of the CAM market, from mold and die making, through 2.5-axis and 5-axis production, to mill-turn and multi-tasking machining (MTM). Moreover, the combined distribution networks of CimatronE and GibbsCAM complement each other and provide excellent coverage of all target markets worldwide, including a strong presence in North America, Europe, and Asia Pacific. "

"We are pleased to be recognized by CIMdata for the rapid growth in 2008 and for the overall stronger market position of Cimatron", said Danny Haran, President and CEO of Cimatron Group. "We took advantage of every opportunity the Gibbs merger afforded us. We now cater to a much broader customer base and our stronger global presence has allowed us to provide better services to our customers worldwide, with CimatronE and GibbsCAM alike."

As well as pointing out Cimatron's growth of the last year, CIMdata analysts confirmed that Cimatron was one of 5 vendors ranked among the top 10 in every geographical region.

CIMdata also praised CimatronE's electrode solution, one of the strongest available on the market, and identified Cimatron as one of the companies most dedicated to customer services and technical support.

Texanosity

Texas Offline now has authority to sell in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Arkansas, Kansas , Missouri & Mississippi.   For all of our new customers outside of Texas we want to make your correspondence with us as easy as possible.  Below is a partial list of TEXANOSITY.  Have it on hand next time you have to place a technical call to us.

Only a Texan knows the difference between a hissy fit and a conniption fit, and that you don't "HAVE" them, you "PITCH" them.

Only a Texan can show or point out to you the general direction of "yonder."

Only a Texan knows exactly how long "directly" is --as in: "Going to town, be back directly."

Even Texan babies know that "Gimme some sugar" is not a request for the white, granular sweet substance that sits in a pretty little bowl in the middle of the table.

Only Texans grow up knowing the difference between "right near" and "a right far piece."

They also know that "just down the road" can be 1 mile or 20.

A Texan knows that "fixin" can be used as a noun, a verb, or an adverb.

Texans never refer to one person as "ya'll."

When you hear someone say, "Well, I caught myself lookin'," you know you are in the presence of a genuine Texan.

Only true Texans say "sweet tea" and "sweet milk."! Sweet tea indicates need for sugar and lots of it -- we do not like our tea unsweetened. "Sweet milk" means you don't want buttermilk.

Hearing a smooth Southern Lady say "Bless your heart" is not a compliment.  It's a Southern way to say you're really stupid.

And a true Texan knows you don't scream obscenities at little old ladies who drive 30 MPH on the freeway. You just say, "Bless her heart" and go your own way.

Every person in every pickup waves. It's called being friendly. Try to understand the concept.

Texas eat cat fish & crawfish. You really want sushi & caviar? It's available at the corner bait shop.

The "Opener" refers to the first day of deer season. It's a religious holiday held the closest Saturday to the first of November.

Texans open doors for women. That is applied to all women, regardless of age or beauty.

College and High School Football is as important here as the Lakers and the Knicks, and a dang site more fun to watch.

Colleges? Try Texas Tech, Texas A&M or University of Texas . They come outta there with an education plus a love for God and country, and they still wave at passing pickups when they come for the holidays.

Texans have more folks in the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines, than any other state, so  " Don't Mess with Texas,"

Always remember what our great governor Sam Houston once said:
" Texas can make it without the United States , but the United States can't make it without Texas !"

And to those of you who are still having a hard time understanding all this Texan stuff, bless your hearts, I hear they are fixin' to have classes on Texan as a second language!
