Texas Offline Top
Resellers Award
|
Gibbs and Associates held
their annual Gibbs Reseller meeting this February
in Santa Barbara, CA. Once again Texas
Offline won the trophy of one of the Top Resellers
in the world. This is the 13th trophy for Texas
Offline since opening in 1996.
Gibbs has
over 100 Resellers in the world and they all
converged upon the Fess Parker Resort to learn
about the upcoming release and catch up with old
friends. Both Bill Gibbs, President of Gibbs and
Associates and Danny Herron, CEO of Cimatron
welcomed their guest and set the pace for the
week. It was business as usual with meetings
on new releases and reviewing the successful
progress of the 2008 year.
Texas Offline
sells GibbsCAM in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma,
Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas. When
asked what he contributed his success to, Jason
Heyse replied, "I started my machine shop in my
early twenties and went through the '80's oil
crunch. I never forgot what it was like to
be a machine shop owner and the long hours and
hard work I put in. I have the utmost
respect for all my customers, and I consider it a
privilege to provide them good tools for their
tool box. We want to be an active partner in
their business to help their business grow
especially in this economic time. When our
customers are successful, the economy is
successful and we all benefit."
Jason
started Texas Offline Inc. in 1996. Gibbs
Corporate trusted him with the state of Texas that
no one else had been successful in. "Those were
the days when you hauled a CPU and a huge monitor
on a dolly around to do your demo," Jason
quips. "We have seen a lot of technology
change in thirteen years and there is no
where it has been more visible that in the
Machining Industry." After only a year
of selling Gibbs, Jason was inducted into the Vice
Presidents Club. Gibbs Corporate finally
took notice of the Lone Star State and Jason was
allowed to branch out of the Houston area and
opened a second office in North Texas and a third
in Arkansas. The second year of the business
Jason was inducted into the Presidents Club where
he has remained every since. There has never been
a Gibbs Reseller who rose to the Presidents club
so quickly before or since other than Texas
Offline. He has continued to be one of the top
Gibbs Resellers in the world.

Maintenance in
Our Economy
|
In these tough
economic times, you might be tempted to let your
GibbsCAM Maintenance elapse. There are several
important reasons why you need to think twice
before making that decision. Having the
latest technology available to you gives you an
advantage over your competitors. And being
ready for any job at any given time gives you a
huge advantage and puts you where you need to be
in this economic time.
Gibbs mails out 1
major release every year. Gibbs corporate has a
team of technicians who work solely on new add-ons
and fixes for the next release. In addition,
you are able to go to the Gibbs website at any
time to download the latest and greatest.
No matter what modules you have, you are
only assured that they will work on the operating
system that you are using now. If your
computer crashes and you are forced to move to a
newer operating system, your Gibbs will probably
not work. If you're on maintenance you know that
no matter what system you have to move to, your
programming will always work.
Gibbs
requires that you are on maintenance to add
anything to your current modules. You might
be just fine with what you have right now, but if
you get a hot job that requires to add say;
Advance Mill or Rotary mill you will have to get
back on maintenance. If you have been off
more than a year, then Gibbs will charge you one
year back plus one year forward. Basically
that fee that you think you can't afford right now
will double!
Gibbs 1-800 number
considers you a preferred customer if you are on
maintenance and will take your tech calls much
quicker when you need support. Texas Offline has
promised to give you free Tech support for the
life of your software. But we can not always be
two places at once. You are assured you always
have Gibbs support as a back up.
Gibbs
Solid users are assured that you will always be
able to bring in the latest CAD files. Every new
CAD release requires the latest Gibbs
release. If your still running Gibbs 2008
you will not be able to open your customers
SolidWorks-Inventor-ProE ect. 2009
file.
Because we understand how tight these
economic times are, Texas Offline will take your
maintenance payments in 4 installments or with a
credit card. We think the maintenance is
important enough to bridge the gap for our
customers. Please give us a call and ask for
a quote. If you need other arrangements, don't
hesitate to ask.
Whether you choose to
renew your maintenance or not, we are still here
for you. Texas Offline provides your tech
support FREE for the life of your software even if
you choose not to be on the maintenance plan.
Our hands are tied however as we are only
able to work with the version you have.

5 Axis Class to
Be Held
|
Texas Offline is offering
a special one day class on our 5 Axis Module at
our "Official GibbsCAM Training Center in the
South" in Cypress, Texas. This specially
scheduled class will be Monday, April 27, 2009
from 8:00-5:00. The cost for the
one-day class is $400.00 per person, and half

Our 5 axis Module
has been on the market since 2007 and has received
great success. This new module extends the
functionalities of GibbsCAM in applications for
true 4 and 5 Axis simultaneous tool path.
They are designed to continue the tradition of
fully associative, easy-to-use GibbsCAM software,
with functions that enable users to make
significant increases in productivity. It is to be
used in conjunction with either the Solid Mill
Import or 3D SolidSurfacer Modules.
The Plug-In includes
Surface Flow, Surface lace cutting, Swarf Cut,
engraving and 3D Contour. Designed to meet the
most precise requirements in 4 and 5-axis
simultaneous machining.

AC. All of the basic positions are
accepted. Rotating heads are supported in
all cases if the now usual "rotary mode" control
is available on the machine. You must have

Annual
Educational Class
|
Texas Offline
is holding our Annual Educational Class June
22-26. The 8:00-5:00 daily classes will be
taught Monday through Friday by Certified
Instructor Jeromy Moore at the Houston Facility
for the low price of $500.00 for the entire week.
Every aspect of Lathe, 2D Mill, 3D Mill, Rotary,
Advance Mill, and Solid Import are covered in this
discounted class. Included with the class is use
of a personal computer station, a take home
manual and a Certificate of Completion to apply
toward their required course training
credits. Like Gibbs Corporate, and
their commitment to Education in our industry,
Texas Offline is equally committed to educating
our Professors on programming with GibbsCAM so
they can teach the popular GibbsCAM that their
students can easily learn and then get
employment with. "It only makes sense
to teach the students an easy CAM that they can
readily get employment with immediately after
graduation. Why train them on an outdated
CAM system that no one is using or supporting
anymore?" advises Jason Heyse, President of Texas
Offline Inc." The special classes are
offered only to teachers and Professors of
High Schools and Universities
that need training on GibbsCAM and can go toward
your required course training credits. Any
professors that are considering teaching GibbsCAM
in the new semester are also invited to
attend. The Educational classes will
be held at the Official Houston Training Center on
Grant Road, near Highway 249 in northwest Houston.

Jay Leno's
Garage
|
A new Ad you will
see repeated in American Machinist Magazine and a
Cover article titled, "CAM for the Big
Dog" on usage of GibbsCAM in part repairs for an
1832 Steam Engine. Jay Leno and his machine
shop crew have taken an old 1832 Steam Engine, the
oldest machine in his collection and rebuilt it in
working order. He used both Gibbs and Fadal
to recreate some of the old parts he needed to
refurbish the engine. You can see for
yourself the complete process they used in Jay
Leno's Garage and Jay's commentary on GibbsCAM
from his website video which shows GibbsCAM screen
images - check it out! Jay's site will
feature the video on the 1832 Steam Engine website
link: Jay
Leno's Garage Jay states on his
website, "I hear simple geometry, and I'm outta
here. The advantage of this is, and almost
any kind of mechanical feature you have or any
kind of engine you can redesign, you can
make a new one, using the Gibbs Program.
It's pretty amazing something that would take a
machinist weeks to do, you can actually do fairly
quickly with GibbsCAM". His programmer and
mechanic Bernard is on hand to take you through
the programming process. "You don't
have to have unlimited funds to own GibbsCAM",
quips Jason Heyse of Texas Offline. "The
majority of Texas Offline customers are just mom
and pop shops who are making a really good living
programming with GibbsCAM. It's refreshing a
man of Jay's stature and caliber with an unlimited
amount of funds would choose GibbsCAM to get his
hobbies accomplished". In typical
"Jay" fashion and over simplicity, Jay finally
exclaims, "You plug it in and it makes a part."

Gibbs and
Associates Celebrates 25 Years |
Gibbs and
Associates, celebrates 25 years of success.
Entering its 26th year, the company continues to
enhance and develop its cutting-edge GibbsCAM to
support the latest machine tools, from the
simplest to the most complex. While maintaining
its ability to generate and verify toolpaths for
increasingly complex parts with its integrated
suite of modules, GibbsCAM remains one of the
easiest NC programming systems to learn and
use.
In January, 2008, Gibbs and Associates
merged with Cimatron Ltd., a leading provider of
CAD/CAM solutions for the tool, die and mold
making markets, to become an independently
operated subsidiary of the Cimatron Group. The
combination provides customers a much broader
range of best-in-class CAD/CAM applications, and
provides the combined company a much stronger,
worldwide presence to access and support customers
in manufacturing.
Powerfully Simple, Simply
Powerful has been a guiding philosophy for Gibbs
development, and the process-based approach to CNC
programming has given GibbsCAM a reputation as
"developed by machinists for machinists." The
resulting breadth of capabilities, with
easy-to-use interface, continue to gain more
customers for the company.
Since 1984,
Gibbs and Associates' goal has been to provide
customers the most effective CAM system available.
Throughout its history, GibbsCAM has demonstrated
its lead in the wide field of PC-based CAM
software. "We owe our success and
longevity to our customers, our employees, our
GibbsCAM Resellers and other industry partners,"
said Bill Gibbs, president and founder. "Without
them, we would not be celebrating this landmark
year. We thank our customers and partners with
continued support and a promise to keep GibbsCAM
as powerful, as efficient, and as easy to use as
we can, always with an effort to keep it in step
with developing CAD and machine tool
capabilities."
To retain its leadership in
customer support throughout its 25-year history,
Gibbs and Associates has developed and maintained
strong partnerships with leading, worldwide CAD
developers, control manufacturers and machine tool
builders. Collaboration with industry partners
resulted in GibbsCAM's ability to directly import
part and assembly models in multiple CAD formats,
and to support machines with integrated toolpath
verification, machine-tool simulation and
thousands of post processors.
While other
CAM companies believed MTM to be an insignificant
niche when MTM machines were being introduced,
Gibbs and Associates saw their potential uses and
future user requirements. Now that multi-task
machining is the fastest growing sector in the
industry, GibbsCAM MTM is the software of choice
for programming the increasingly complex
machines. In support of all these machines,
Gibbs has increased its library of post processors
to over 10,000, including more than 550
specifically developed for Swiss and "standard"
multi-task machines. With perpetual advancements
in machine tool technology, the company continues
product development and industry collaboration to
ensure support for the latest functions of
multi-axis turning, milling and multi-task
machines, with enhancements to make programming
fast and easy, and machining as efficient as
possible.
For over twenty five years, Gibbs
and Associates has believed in empowering the NC
programmer, machinist, and manufacturing engineer,
not eliminating them. Gibbs' goal is to introduce
manufacturers to new technologies and new ways of
working that make their machining easier and their
businesses more profitable. To achieve this goal,
Gibbs creates tools that are naturally intuitive,
graphically interactive, extremely visual,
associative, and just plain enjoyable to use.
Gibbs provides a total quality solution with the
service and support successful customers
require.
